If enough of us are available, we sometimes play on the porch of the Anne Welsh Salon, although with National Night Out on the same week, we may opt out of playing this month. First Thursday is from 6 to 9 pm; if we play, we usually play from around 7 to 8 or 8:30 pm.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010 Not a band concert, but band member Maggie Johnston will be playing with the orchestra at T. C. Williams High School, 3330 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia. 7:30 pm.
Tuesday, June 15, 2010 Come to a fabulous house concert with The Red Wellies! The Red Wellies is a trio of fine Irish Traditional musicians operating out of Asheville, North Carolina. Fiddler Claudine Odell (her friends and family call her "Beanie") is a highly respected Irish fiddle teacher who has studied with some of the greats, including Tommy Peoples and Martin Hayes (and started out fiddling with the Irish Breakfast Band several decades ago). Her nephew, Duncan Wickel, on fiddle and Uilleann pipes, has toured with John Doyle and is a member of the Cathie Ryan Band. Beanie and Duncan have been playing together for more than a decade, and the resulting "twin fiddle" near-unison sound is goose-bump inducing. They are joined by Vincent Fogarty, whose tasteful bouzouki accompaniment combines a love for traditional Irish music with a rock-solid sense of rhythm and style. The house concert is at Karen and Gordon's house in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria (call 703 548-5784 for more information and directions) as part of the Folklore Society of Greater Washington's house concert series.
Suggested Donation of $15.00 to the Folklore Society of Greater Washington, with all proceeds going to the performers.
7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
Wednesday, June 16, 2010 Not a band concert, but band member Jannie Johnston will be playing with the orchestra at George Washington Middle School, 1005 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia. 7:30 pm.
Thursday, July 1, 2010 First Thursday in Del Ray! If enough of us are available, we sometimes play on the porch of the Anne Welsh Salon. First Thursday is from 6 to 9 pm; if we play, we usually play from around 7 to 8 or 8:30 pm.
